Give it a Go is full of activities for you to try while you are a student here in Sheffield. It gives you the chance to try new things, meet new people, learn new skills and visit different places. Best of all, if you are first year living in the Residences and have a Res Life card you can also get a £1 discount on every event above £1.50 in the Give it a Go programme. All the activities work on a pay as you go basis, you can buy a ticket in advance online or from the Students' Union Box Office and then all you need to do is turn up on the day of your activity.
Give it a Go have joined forces with the Residence Life team to bring you a great range of Give it a Go activities right on your doorstep. If you live in the Residences, make sure you look out for the Residence Life logo in the programme as this indicates that the activity is right where you live.
As a Resident, you should also have a Res Life Card (which is actually a handy keyfob!) which will entitle you to a £1 discount on every event above £1.50 in the Give it a Go programme. Make sure you show your Res Life Card at the Students' Union Box Office when you buy your tickets.
Fancy organising and running your own section of the Give it a Go programme? Or volunteering to help run some of the events, being an ambassador for Give it a Go and making sure the programme is always amazing?
If you live in the Residences, you can become a Give it a Go Leader. You will get the freedom, the budget and the staff support to design your own activities and make your ideas a reality.
Getting involved will give you the opportunity to make new friends, gain new skills, get some great training to put on your CV and meet other Students' Union societies. Your involvement could also be verified on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
Calling all Clubs and Societies! Had an idea and want to run your own Give it a Go event? Well this is how.
