Students living in one of the three student communities: Endcliffe, Ranmoor and City, in conjunction with Sheffield Volunteering, have been busy recently helping out the ‘Spring Into Nature' campaign by making bird boxes or houses.
As Spring approaches, this time of year is crucial for birds, as every year natural nesting sites are decreasing and it's important to try and compensate for this loss. By helping to create nesting boxes students have given birds the chance of a safe place to roost, as well giving them a chance to become familiar with their local environment.
The event was a great success and their hard work in making a bird box from scratch will shortly be displayed across campus and in the residences to help out local bird species.

Keep a look out for your community listings for more events occurring throughout ‘Spring Into Nature' week.
