Transport

One of the easiest ways to make a positive difference to your carbon footprint is to change the way you travel. If your journey is fairly short then consider walking or cycling instead of taking the car, while if it’s more of an epic journey, think about using public transport or joining a car-sharing scheme.

Bike

Travelling by bicycle is a great way to make sure you aren’t causing damage to the planet, and Sheffield has an extensive network of cycle ways making your journey even safer and faster.

Join the Sheffield University Cycle Forum and get involved in the cycle community.

Public transport

Using trams, buses or other public transport means that the impact on the planet is shared among your fellow travellers. Every bus full of commuters means that up to 50 cars are taken off the road. Use the links below to find the easiest way from A to B:

Car

If you really have to travel by car, why not consider registering on the University car sharing scheme? Whether it’s a daily trip or a journey across the country to get home during the holidays, it’s an effective (and friendly) way to halve your impact.
