Tickets for selected Union events are available to be purchased online using a credit or debit card. This is brought to you via a partnership with Sheffield International Venues (SIV) Ltd
Typical events that are published for sale on the SIV Ltd service are all the weekly Union club nights and live gigs.
Look out for the "BUY NOW" button on selected events and club night pages.
You will find this button on the homepage of each of the club nights, and alongside the individual events listed in the Calendar and the Gig List.
Clicking the button will take your web browser to the Sheffield Students' Union page on the Sheffield Box Office website (run by SIV Ltd). From this page you can see all the events available for purchase, if you clicked the button from an individual event you will see that event's specific landing page.
Please note: Some events are for students only. In these situations you will be required to click a "tick box" confirming that you are a student before you can proceed to the ticket purchasing page on the Sheffield Box Office website. At these events you will be required to produce valid ID confirming student membership. We have the right to refuse admission to those not presenting valid student membership ID.
Selecting the "Buy Now" button for the required event will then take you to the page where you confirm the number of tickets required. All hosted pages are secure (SSL) and will encrypt all all your Credit/Debit card information.
The final page will confirm the success or failure of the transaction. A successful transaction will yield a reference number which you should keep safe as this will be required if collecting the tickets from the Students' Union Box Office.
Here are Sheffield Union Box Office's Terms and Conditions of Sale, and additionally SIV Ltd carry their own terms and conditions.
How do I buy tickets online from you?
If you haven't booked online with us before then you will need to create a new account - as a tip to make it easier next time why don't you use your email address as your username.
Can I have a different delivery address to my billing address?
Your tickets must be sent to your billing address i.e. your tickets have to be posted to the address at which your credit card is registered.
If your billing address is different from your term time address then please choose to have your tickets for collection at the box office.
I am collecting my tickets from the Box Office, what do I need to bring?
Tickets are usually available for collection 48 hours after your booking has been made, but this will change if tickets are booked on the day/day before the event. Sometimes these tickets are referred to as COBO, which means tickets have been left Care Of Box Office.
All pre-booked tickets that are collected from the Union Box Office can only be collected by the credit card holder who must sign for the tickets and present the card with which they have ordered the tickets as well as the order confirmation number.
If you have used your parent's card then call the Box Office on 0114 222 8777.
I’ve lost my tickets – what can I do?
The first thing to do is contact the Box Office on 0114 2228777.
It’s important to realise that some types of ticket cannot be replaced. For example most sorts of general admission, unreserved or standing tickets cannot be reissued as that might mean the venue would exceed its capacity.
Where can I see your Terms and Conditions?
Our terms and conditions of sale are available on the Union website (above) and also on the back of our concert tickets.
How do I make a group booking for a reunion or social?
If you wish to make a group booking for one of our events please email your request to nightsout@sheffield.ac.uk.
Do I need ID to collect my tickets at the Box Office?
Yes – you will need to present the credit or debit card you used to make your purchase with us and your email confirmation as further proof of your purchase.
What is 3D-Secure?
3D-Secure is required for making payments through the SIV Ltd ticketing system. 3D-Secure authentication involves a password which is associated with a credit or debit card. It can be thought of like "Chip and PIN" but for the web, and using a password. If you do not already have 3D-Secure set up with the card you use for the online transaction then you will be required to set one up before you are allowed to complete the transaction. 3D-Secure is designed to protect you and the merchant from fraud.
What events can't I buy tickets for online?
