Undergraduate scholarships

As well as University bursaries, there are scholarships available to help fund your study and enhance your learning experience.

Sheffield Scholars

We run three special scholarships as part of our Sheffield Scholars scheme.

The deadline for 2013 applications has now passed. If you're hoping to come here in 2014 then you'll be able to apply for the Sheffield Scholars schemes when you receive an offer. Find out more about the 2013 schemes:

City Scholars

If you live in the Sheffield region, in a designated postcode, and your A Level grades are ABB or higher, we'll give you £1,500 a year.

Global Scholars

We're giving away thirty places at summer schools in Europe, North America and Australasia. We'll pay the air fare, tuition fees and accommodation. To be in with a chance, you have to get A*AA in your A Levels.

Masters Scholars

We're paying for fifty arts and humanities and social sciences students to stay on after their degrees and take their masters – we'll cover the tuition fees. To be in with a chance, you have to get A*AA in your A Levels.

Sports scholarships

Do you compete at national level in your sport? Then you can apply. Our Elite Sports Performance Scheme gives athletes different levels of support from free gym membership to an annual £1,000 award.

Lloyds Scholars Programme

The Lloyds scheme offers awards worth up to £10,000 a year to talented students from low-income backgrounds. You also get the chance to take paid work experience with Lloyds.

HSBC care leavers' scholarships

With HSBC, we're co-funding five scholarships for care leavers. You could get all your tuition fees paid – for the whole course – plus £1,000 a year to help with living costs.

Department scholarships

Lots of departments offer scholarships too, some of them sponsored by industry. Contact the department running the courses you're interested in to find out if they are offering anything for students starting in your year.

Engineering Academic Achievement scholarships

Some of our engineering departments are offering Academic Achievement Scholarships for students starting in 2013. If you do well in your studies before you start your course then you could qualify.
