MA in IDP and your Career

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge which will allow you to follow a wide range of careers in planning and international development. Graduates from the first two years of the programme have gone on from here to work at Oxfam, with UK local authorities and into postgraduate (doctoral) study. One of this years's cohort (2009-10) is about to take up a prestigious internship with the United Nations HABITAT organisation in Nairobi. (See link to 'Graduate profiles' on the right.) Graduates from our longer-established MA courses have been very successful in securing employment in a range of public and private sector posts, and the International Development and Planning course will uphold the Department's established record and reputation with high-profile employers.

The course has full accreditation from the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), so graduates will be able to become chartered members of the Institute once necessary RTPI practice requirements have been met.
