Sponsored Property Field Trip
![]() |
Each year we run a field trip to London which from the academic year 2009-10 is sponsored by the Investment Property Forum Educational Trust (IPFET). |
Meet employers and recruitment specialists
The field trip takes place in November, just before the deadlines for job applications to the major industry employers.
We also meet Graduate Recruitment and HR representatives, to find out more about what it is like to work for them and to ask questions about the application process.
This years 2011 students had the opportunity to meet HR personnel and recent graduate employees from Savills. Savills plc is a global real estate services provider. They have an international network of more than 200 offices and associates throughout the Americas, the UK, continental Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. They offer a broad range of specialist advisory, management and transactional services to clients all over the world. The students also visited IPD (Investment Property Databank). IPD is the world leader in performance analysis for the owners, investors, managers and occupiers of real estate. A drinks reception, networking event and presentation was also held at Gerald Eve. The company is a national firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants. Our students had the opportunity to network and chat with recent graduate employees.

Feedback
“Can I please express my gratitude for the hard work and effort put into the organisation of our fieldtrip. Fellow students have found the experience both worthwhile and enjoyable. As a student the commercial world seems quite daunting and the process of job application can be quite arduous. However, listening to professionals and visiting their working environment brings the whole process to life, provides us with some valuable knowledge and gives us an idea of the avenues our careers could possibly begin to follow next September.”
