Biography

I am extremely pleased to be joining TRP on an exciting new project which involves exploring how local education, housing markets and urban structure combine to affect children’s journeys to school in Sheffield. In my previous work-life I worked for the NHS, and then in social housing for over 10 years mainly with tenants with support needs. I completed an MA in Social Policy and Research Methods in York in 2000. Following this I worked as a quantitative researcher at the University of Leeds, did a stint in housing and homelessness in Leeds, and then moved to Sheffield and undertook research at the sub-region for South Yorkshire Partnership. I then did a PhD in how multiple social and spatial disadvantages combine across time in the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield (2006-2010). Over the last decade I have steadily developed my skills in statistical analysis multilevel modelling of longitudinal and geographical data.
