The way ahead

Three academics from Sheffield's two Universities are coming together to hold a public meeting to explain why the world is caught up in both an economic and an ecological crisis and to discuss ways forward.

Dr Jamie Gough and Dr John Smith from the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Sheffield, will be joined by Prof Ian Rotherham of the Faculty of Development and Society at Sheffield Hallam University in a special morning debate to be held in the city later this month.

Organised by the Sheffield branch of the Workers Educational Association, the country's biggest voluntary provider of adult education, the workshop will be held at the Quaker Meeting House in James Street, alongside Sheffield Cathedral, from 10am-12.30pm.

The seminar is free but numbers are limited. Prior booking is advised by contacting the WEA on 0114 242 3609 or cmakison@wea.org.uk
