Getting Started

sga

There are six key areas within the Award, each designed to represent a broad spectrum of activities:

  • Enterprise
  • Student Jobs and Work Experience
  • Volunteering
  • Cultural and Social Awareness
  • Extending International Horizons
  • Activities Supporting the University

Within each of the key sections, there are many different related activities from which you can choose, including others which may not be listed here. Download the file "Key areas and associated activities" from the right hand menu for more information.

Make use of the MORE website for information on the range of activities and how to get involved.

It is compulsory for all candidates entering the programme that you will have undertaken a period of work experience OR volunteering at sometime during your studies. You will be expected to demonstrate your engagement with an activity from each of FOUR of the six sections on offer before you can submit your final award portfolio.

You are able to use activities from the start of your university career in order to build up your portfolio.

Assuming you have already completed a period of work experience or volunteering, you can choose one (or two, if you have time) activities from within the other listed sections, giving a total of four (or more) activities eligible for assessment.
