Why did you choose Sheffield?

I chose Sheffield because I wanted to go to school in an English speaking country and I loved what Sheffield had to offer. The location very much appealed to me. I liked the idea of being in a large city, but having nature, like the Peak District, close at hand. It gave the best of both worlds. Moreover, Sheffield has a great academic reputation and has a large variety of ways for its students to get involved.

Where did you live?

Tapton Hall

What did you do for fun/ at weekends?

I did a lot of traveling while I was studying in England. During the weekends, I was able to go to places like London, Paris, Scotland, and Ireland. I loved going to the Peak District to do hiking. I also made some great friends with the students that lived in Tapton and other international students and would spend time with them doing different activities like going out to West Street, going to the movies, or just hanging out around the residence halls.

Describe Sheffield in a short paragraph

The Univeristy and the city of Sheffield are wonderful. The people are nice and friendly and the area has a lot to offer. The five months that I spend abroad were the best five months of my life. This place taught me a lot about myself and opened my eyes to numerous different cultures. I will always consider Sheffield as a second home.

If you could give advice to a prospective student thinking of choosing Sheffield, what would you say?

I´d say definitely do it. It would be an experience that wouldn´t be forgotten.

Could you give any advice or tips to a student preparing to come to Sheffield or tell them anything you wished you knew in advance.
