Accommodation

Where you will live is a big factor in choosing your Study Abroad destination.

At Sheffield, we aim to give you as broad a choice as possible, with a strong emphasis on quality of service and support.

The majority of Study Abroad students choose to live in our halls of residence.

  • Most of the halls are in the leafy suburbs around a mile from the main campus.
  • Halls are within easy walking distance of each other, and connected by frequent regular bus services.
  • Rooms are single with either a private bathroom or access toshared facilities.
  • All our halls have a set meal plan of 16 meals per week. The cost is included in the fees.
  • All our halls have a social committee (Junior Common Room) which organises a variety of activities throughout the year such as dances, video nights, quizzes, and sporting events.
  • Facilities include computer labs, bars, communal lounges, and laundry facilities. Most rooms have data connections (internet).

Our guarantee

All Study Abroad students are guaranteed a place in University accommodation provided you meet the conditions of the guarantee.

Deadlines

Full year and Fall only deadline: 11 August

Spring semester only deadline: 11 Decemember

Accommodation Application Pack

Accommodation information will automatically be sent to you by email after you have been offered a place on the Programme.

Once you have the required information (your applicant number) you will apply on line for your accommodation.

Privately-owned accommodation

Students may rent private accommodation in the city, but there is no guarantee of availability.

We don´t recommend this option to students who are staying for one semester only, as it can be difficult to obtain a contract for such a short period of time.
