Application & Acceptance

You have now submitted your application on line and scanned and emailed your documents.

You will find information about what happens to your application and answers to frequently asked questions.

Application Process

  • Your on line application is received at Sheffield
  • You have scanned and emailed your required documents to Sheffield
  • As soon as we have a moment, we will review your application and check that you meet our basic entry requirements
  • Your application form & supporting documents are sent onto all departments where you selected "major" modules
  • Once we receive back ALL decisions from departments, we can then put together your offer package
  • We mail your offer package to the address given on your on line application form
  • Within 7-10 days of us sending your offer package, it arrives on your door step
  • You now need to accept your place ASAP to continue to the process

Important Information

  • Each application is individual - You may apply to Sheffield with other people from your Univeristy, it does not mean you will get a decision at the same time as your friend.
  • Each department has a different adviser & has 10 working days to make a decision - It can take time for the adviser to review your application and make a decision. We will chase departments if time elapses.
  • Delays - at busy times of the year there can be delays for sending out packages. Please bare with us during these times. We have not forgot about you.
  • Accurate information - please ensure that you provide up to date address and emails. Delays happen due to our office not being updated with new information.
  • Early applicants - if you apply to Sheffield very early, key documents we have to send you may not be ready. This can then take a little while to get your package to you. Don't worry, this is not a problem.

Offer Package

You offer package will include the following:

  • Offer letter
  • Module Decision form(s)
  • Acceptance form

Accepting your place

Once you receive your offer package, you should read through the documents and return the acceptance form ASAP and without delay.

Your accommodation application will not be processed and you will not be sent the letter to apply for a visa until you have accepted your place.

You should return your acceptance form by scan and email to ieu@sheffield.ac.uk OR fax to 44 114 2221234

You may post it, however, this will waste valuable time.
