
Improvements made to University Services as a result of student feedback on evaluation exercises carried out within the University in 2009

Accommodation and Campus Services
- You said that University accommodation could offer better value for money.
- You said that we could improve the standard of catered accommodation.
Careers Service
- You said that you were concerned about the impact of the economic recession on the availability of graduate employment opportunities.
- International students said that they wanted more information on how to compile CVs for UK based employers.
- You said that you could not always attend skills sessions run by the Careers Service.
Counselling Service
- You said that you would like more information about how our appointments system works.
- You said that the noise in the Chaplaincy building was distracting (Skills for Life ran some workshops in the Chaplaincy building last year).
English Language Teaching Centre
- You said that you wanted to be able to take a wider range of courses on the English Language Support programme.
- You said that Departmental Support Class feedback was patchy.
- Dyslexic students said that they wanted more interim support while waiting for DSA funding.
- You said that extended writing classes for lower level students were too difficult and boring.
- You said that classrooms were overcrowded and noisy.
Learning and Teaching Services
- You said that you would like quicker and more detailed feedback on your work.

Library
- You said that you wanted longer semester opening hours, particularly at exam times and at sites other than the Information Commons.

Union of Students
- You said that the Union building felt dated and that there was nowhere for you to sit or carry out club activities.

University Health Service (UHS)
- You said that you found the appointment system difficult as you were not always able to go on-line.
- You said that it would be good to have more appointments available during lunch hours.
- You said that you were unfamiliar with how some areas of the NHS work.
University of Sheffield Enterprise (USE)
- You said that you had difficulty in finding the Enterprise Zone.

- You said that some of our facilities needed further upgrading.
