Postgraduate Research Committee
Postgraduate Research Committee exists to promote the representation needs for the 2,500 Research students at Sheffield, but also to ensure that the Union caters for their social and recreational needs too. It also develops links with the wider postgraduate community via the National Postgraduate Committee. In 2005-06 the PGR committee held their famous summer barbeque, kept the pressure up on the university for adequate workspace and made sure individual concerns were taken up and acted upon by the Union. The Committee is a good way of standing up for an often neglected section of our membership.
