Immigration Certifying Letter
The Immigration Certifying Letter (ICL) is used in support of student application for extension of Leave to Remain. It can be obtained from the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) but must be requested at least one week before it is required. It is also required to get a US visa if the purpose of the trip is as part of course/research trip/conference.
International or Overseas students (for fees purposes)
Overseas students (those who are not UK and not EEA) will pay fees at the overseas rate. Home (UK) and European fees may also depend on residency as well as nationality/immigration status.
International Graduate Scheme
The International Graduate Scheme has now been replaced by the Post-Study Work Scheme.
JACS Code
Joint Academic Coding Structure (JACS) codes are designated jointly by HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) and UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) to ensure that similar courses running at any UK University are coded similarly. The JACS code for your course can be found in the regulations relating to your programme of study.
