Summer vacation events
You can see details of all the events on the University vacation website or check out the Facebook events here. |
Stay safeSheffield is a great place to live, but as with all big cities around the world, it does have some crime. By taking some simple precautions as part of your daily routine, you can actively reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime. Watch our video for tips on how to stay safe. The Student Advice Centre at Sheffield Students' Union has also produced some useful tips to protect yourself and your property, and South Yorkshire Police also have some advice on looking after your personal safety. If you own valuable items such as expensive phones, laptops etc, you can register these free of charge on the Immobilise website. This will help the police identify the owner of lost or stolen property. If you do become a victim of crime, please remember that there are services to assist you. Report the crime immediately to the police on 999 (emergency situations and if a crime is in progress) or 101 (non-emergency situations or to report a crime that is not in progress). The University Security Service can be contacted on 0114 2224444 and can assist with contacting the police as well as providing advice to students. |

If you're staying in Sheffield for part or all of the summer vacation, don't forget that there are a wide range of events we'll be running to keep you entertained. Come along to any, or all, of them with friends or family, or come on your own and meet new people! It's a great chance to see more of Sheffield and the local area and to practise your English. All our events will have student assistants there to help you find your way and explore new places. Next week we have our first events - trips to Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
