The Academic Skills Hub (TASH) is your online academic skills information hub. TASH offers a wealth of information on the issues you're likely to encounter throughout your studies and because it's online, you can access it from anywhere and at any time.

TASH is now owned by 301, the University's new Student Skills and Development Centre based at 301 Glossop Road.

TASH also includes iTASH, a range of resources specifically aimed at international students.  Start with the 'English Language support' and 'Transition to studying in the UK' pages in the 'Being at University' section.

Using TASH

There's no right or wrong way to use TASH. If you're a new student, you'll find the 'being at university' section a good introduction to what to expect from university. Or if you have an essay deadline looming and need some extra help with how to structure a written piece of work, you'll find useful guidance in the 'everyday skills' and 'writing skills' sections. TASH is designed to provide you with additional support with academic issues whenever you need it.

We hope that TASH will offer you ideas and suggestions for tackling a wide range of challenges throughout your academic studies.
