Student Health and Well-Being
Student Health and Well-Being is part of the Student Services Department and draws together four services:
- University Counselling Service
- Disability and Dyslexia Support Service
- University Health Service
- Multifaith Chaplaincy Service
Each of these services aims to support students in making the most of their lives at Sheffield university, by:
- helping them to maintain and improve their physical and psychological health and well-being
- working towards the full inclusion of all students in university life.
Student Health and Well-Being also provides a platform for strategic initiatives in this area; we play leading roles in:
- The Student Mental Health Strategy (see downloads), which aims to develop a coherent institutional approach to the development of student mental health services at the university.
- Healthy Campus, a university-wide collaboration aimed at raising awareness of health and well-being issues.
- Excellence Through Inclusion, the University's strategy for equality and diversity, and the Student Services Equality Action Group
- Student Community Project research that aims to help improve the student experience by gaining a better understanding of the student community in Sheffield and students’ experience of community at the University.
- Student Transitions Support, where a cross - departmental group has developed a new framework for understanding this important area of our work. (see dowloads for report).
