Faculty Examination Conventions
Examination Conventions have been agreed by all Faculties and these are revised and re-issued to departments in advance of the start of each new academic session. The Conventions are also available via the Student Services Information Desk website.
Separate sets of conventions are provided relating to:
- Undergraduate degree programmes
- Taught Postgraduate degree programmes
- Undergraduate non-modular programmes in the Faculty of Medicine
The Conventions should be read in conjunction with the University´s General Regulations. In particular the Conventions contain guidance on those aspects of the Regulations which afford discretionary powers to the examiners. You will also find details of procedures which are specific to particular Faculties, along with information on the treatment of medical or personal evidence relating to examination performance, and other related matters.
100 point reporting scale
A 100 point reporting scale was introduced for students on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes in 2000-01. All students are now covered by this scale, except where special arrangements have been made.
