Awards/Results Documentation for Students

Transcripts of examination results

Current students (including graduates until 12 months from graduation) may request an official Transcript of Qualifications from the Student Services Information Desk (an on-line application form is available on the SSiD website). These documents are not intended as a replacement for the computer-generated Statements of Examination Results made available to students from within MUSE after each semester´s examination period. Students should only need to request an official transcript for employment/postgraduate applications etc., and should allow up to 10 days for the document to be prepared.

Former students may request a Transcript of Qualifications from SSiD or the Taught Programmes Office (a charge of £20 is made). The request may take up to 6 weeks to process, depending on whether the details of the student´s performance are readily available or have been archived (please note that where results data has not been supplied and loaded onto the central student records system, transcripts cannot be supplied centrally and will need to remain a departmental responsibility; this is often the case for former taught postgraduate students). As an alternative, the Taught Programmes Office can provide an official Statement of Award and Conferment of a Degree (a charge of £15 is made).

Replacement degree certificates

If a former student has genuinely lost their original degree certificate and requires a replacement, this can be provided by the Taught Programmes Office. A charge of £30 is made and the replacement certificate is marked as such. Graduates should complete a 'Request for Replacement Degree Certificate Application Form' downloadable from the Student Services Information Desk website.

Diploma supplements

Diploma supplements in a format consistent with guidelines compiled by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES to improve international recognition of academic and professional qualifications, can be provided in conjunction with a Transcript of Examination Results. Graduates seeking employment in other countries within the EU may find this document particularly helpful.

Verification of awards/results for external agencies

The Taught Programmes Office provides a verification service to external agencies such as employers, other educational institutions etc., who may request confirmation that the award of a degree to a named individual is valid.
