Certificates of Student Status
In certain circumstances, students may need an official University certificate in order to prove student status. These certificates, which are also known as certifying letters, can be requested from the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) in the Union of Students Building or via the `on-line forms´ facility on the SSiD website. Current students are not charged for these certificates but they are asked to give a genuine reason for the application. Certificates are available `while you wait´ at SSiD or can be collected after a week, if ordered.
Separate certificates are available relating to exemption from the Council Tax and for use in connection with an application to extend leave to remain. These documents are also available from SSiD; Council Tax certificates can also be requested via `on-line forms´.
