The Sociological Studies Department is highly ranked with a range of staff many of whom are leaders in their fields. The staff are extremely friendly and there are a wide variety of people offering help and support including tutors, lecturers and current students. Being given independence to choose modules which appeal to you enables in-depth study of areas which you are passionate about. There are also opportunities to become involved with the department including student mentoring and becoming a course rep."

I’m really glad I chose the Social and Political Studies Honours degree at Sheffield because I find the subject really interesting and I’ve been able to get involved in the department by becoming a course representative.
