MA in Global and International Social Policy - Course team

Professor Bob Deacon

The course team includes junior and senior faculty recognised around the world for their research in policy and practice. Their skills complement each other allowing the department to offer a wide range of modules and dissertation supervision options.

The leader of the programme is Professor Bob Deacon who is the world's leading scholar of global social policy. He founded the journal Global Social Policy and has been the director since 1997 of the Globalism and Social Policy Programme (GASPP).

Dr Kevin Farnsworth: Researches the impact of class interests, especially business and labour organisations, on global, world-regional and national social policy formation. He is also currently an Executive Board Member of the British Social Policy Association.

Dr Zoe Irving: Researches comparative Social Policy. She is also co-convenor of the International and Comparative Social Policy Group (ICSP) of the Social Policy Association and associated web site (http://www.globalwelfare.net).
