Accommodation
The University of Sheffield has an impressive variety of accommodation, ranging from modern purpose-built flats to converted Victorian town houses to the Halls of Residence which provide a full catering service.
Many Sociological Studies postgraduate students choose to live in self-catered accommodation and there is plenty available within easy walking distance of the Department. Once you have accepted an offer you will be sent a booklet showing you all the accommodation options and asking you for your preferences. If you return this or complete an online application before the specified date (usually in July), you are guaranteed a place in University-owned accommodation, which can be pre-booked before you arrive in Sheffield.
