University LibrariesThere are four libraries on campus: the Information Commons (IC), Western Bank Library, St George’s Library, and the Health Sciences Library at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. There’s also a small library at the Northern General Hospital.They offer a wealth of material to support learning and research at the University; over 1,300,000 printed volumes and an extensive range of high quality electronic resources. Many resources are accessible from off-campus via the Internet. The University Library also runs a free minibus service to the British Library at Boston Spa on the first Tuesday of each month. uSpaceuSpace is an online collaboration and networking tool that provides blogs, shared documents, discussion boards, social networking and much more. It has been chosen to meet the needs of the diverse communities within the University and enables students to work collaboratively and creatively on course work as well as socialise with others.uSpace is accessed via MUSE (a web facility designed to give students personalised access to the University's online resources from anywhere in the World). |

The White Rose Consortium The White Rose studentships initiative was set up in 1997 to encourage collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. Since 2005 the studentships have been awarded as thematic networks to promote collaboration across the three institutions.
