Why do a top up degree?
Whilst having a degree will not guarantee you a job, it does imply that you have certain academic, organisational and management skills, which should influence your practice, and being a graduate in Nursing/Midwifery could enhance your promotion prospects in the future.
The programme will help you to develop a body of knowledge that will influence your practice and the practice of others. The degree offers you a unique opportunity to review the literature on an aspect of nursing/midwifery practice of your choice and consider its relevance and application to your practice role. If you choose the honours degree programme we will also encourage you to publish an article, based on your dissertation.
Having a degree at honours level will open the gates of opportunity to you in the future, whether in clinical practice, Nursing/Midwifery education, research or management.
