Research themes
Our research is organised in to three main themes.
We have a number of research projects in which patients, health service users or family carers shape or control the implementation and dissemination of research.
Below is a summary of the current research themes in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, along with links to their individual webpages.
Supportive Care in Later Life (Formerly 'Older People')
This research theme focuses on exploring the ways in which partnerships can be formed between older people, families and paid carers in order to generate knowledge that contributes both to greater theoretical understanding and enhanced service delivery.

Workforce and Practice Development
This research theme covers: nurse education, routes of entry into nursing and the experience of being a nursing student or a nurse. This work is intended to inform nursing educators and health service workforce planners about issues relevant to retaining nursing students and stress and psychological morbidity amongst nurses.
