Undergraduate Teaching: Geriatric Medicine in the Undergraduate Medical Curriculum
The Sheffield undergraduate medical curriculum has not in the past adequately reflected the role of Geriatric Medicine in contemporary medical practice. However a number of factors including the GMC document "Tomorrows Doctors", the development of an academic department of Geriatrics, and the teaching quality assessment visit from the QAA in December 1998 stimulated a review of the contribution of teaching in Geriatrics. At present the department inputs into all phases of the curriculum.
