Alliances and Partnerships
National Partnerships
SISA is building links with organisations that are at the leading edge in the delivery of person-centred health or social care for older people, helping these organisations in the development and evaluation of best practice.
The following organisations have formal links with SISA and are acknowledged by Associate status:
Regional Partnerships
SISA is active throughout south and west Yorkshire, with researchers based in Sheffield, Barnsley and Bradford, and strong research links with colleges in Leeds. We also work closely with colleges in Hull on postgraduate student support.
More generally, SISA is contributing to a series of initiatives for the regional foresight programme on ageing. A regional foresight panel has been formed to co-ordinate work in Yorkshire and Humberside on responding to opportunities and challenges arising from the ageing population, with economic growth and improving quality of life of older people as the twin aims. Public sector services (housing, transport, social care, health care, policing, etc), industry (large and small companies) and the university sector are involved.
SISA is contributing the establishment of a science park and regional network to develop "new products for old age", a cohort study on ageing, and a consultation event with stakeholders in the region.
Local Partnerships
Clinical Service for Older People at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, is a centre for clinical practice, training and research in health care for older people.
