The University of Sheffield are very pleased to be able to host this event in partnership with the Sheffield Institute of Studies on Ageing (SISA), UK Clinical Research Network (UK CRN), the White Rose Network, the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research & Care (CLAHRC) in South Yorkshire and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)
We welcome older people, their advocates, professionals working in health and social care and researchers to come and hear what research is taking, network and debate the issues.
Our aim for the day is to share examples of research projects concerned with ageing that are taking place in South Yorkshire. As you can see from the programme, our keynote speaker is a national figure in ageing research. We then are showcasing examples of projects that are about to start, still in progress or just completed. The afternoon is devoted to examples of how we are creating leaders of the future in ageing research.
Following refreshments at the end of the afternoon, those who wish to stay on are invited to listen to the annual Majorie Coote lecture, which this year is being given by Professor Caroline Glendenning from the University of York.
