MA in Chinese Studies (Full-time, 12 Months)
|
The MA Chinese Studies offers a flexible range of units in the social sciences that may be combined with rigorous language tuition at a range of levels.
Students may choose from units on the political economy of China, business and management practice, and cultures of public communication. These will address such questions as:
- How far should we see human rights as nationally or culturally specific, and how does this affect our understanding of ‘rights’ in China?
- How are changing practices of corporate governance changing business practice in China today?
- How are commercialisation and globalisation changing the Chinese media, and how does this allow us to ‘read’ contemporary China?
Other options include modules on economic development, business and work practices in the wider East Asian context.
For non-native speakers of Chinese, the Chinese language programme offers a range of entry points and offers rigorous and intensive skills development for students at beginners´, intermediate and advanced levels.
Diploma (9 months) and Certificate (4 months) options are also available for this programme – please contact us for further details.
