Dry-Day 2009

DryDay

Dry-Day is an annual research forum for all SCIDR (Sheffield Centre for International Dryland Research) staff, postgraduate students, post-docs and visiting fellows.

This is the inaugural Dry-Day, and we are hoping to have a full and exciting range of talks covering all aspects of SCIDR research. All current research students, post-docs and fellows will be giving short talks detailing existing or future Dryland research topics.

This year, we have also invited an external speaker Dr David Nash from the University of Brighton to kick Dry-Day off. David will give us a seminar on his archive-based drylands work which combines a range human/physical geography topics, and will also join us for a Dry-Day meal on the evening of Tuesday 19th of May.

Dry-Day will start at 10:00am on the 20th May, and will finish at approx 4 pm. Lunch and coffee/cake will be provided! If you would like to attend, please contact Dr Rob Bryant (r.g.bryant@sheffield.ac.uk) so that we can arrange numbers for catering.

Location: The RJRR, Department of Geography, University of Sheffield.
