Achievement Awards

The University of Sheffield Achievement Awards programme enables Year 10-11 students across the region to demonstrate the skills needed for successful progression in whatever pathway they choose e.g. sixth form, college, training organisations, employment, and university. Over a two year period Year 10 students complete a series of goals in order to gain the award. The goals currently include 93% attendance and 95% punctuality as well as career planning activities e.g. attending a work experience placement. We currently deliver the award in partnership with 9 selected schools which means that the students who gain the Achievement Award really 'stand out from the crowd'.

Achievement awards ceremony

Achievement awards ceremony

At the end of Year 11 successful students are invited to attend a special graduation-style award ceremony along with their family members and teachers. At this ceremony they are individually presented with a certificate signed by the Vice-Chancellor to reward them for the effort they have made and their commitment and determination throughout the two years. Afterwards they have their photograph taken to commemorate the evening.
