Biography

I was trained as a Health Geographer at McMaster University in Canada with an interest in public health.

Since moving to the UK in 2008 I have been part of the NICE Collaborating Centre team working as a Research Associate on various reviews for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Research Interests

My research interests include neighbourhood health, healthy communities, determinants of health, health promotion, youth health and wellbeing, obesity and the environment, as well as qualitative research methods

I have previously worked on a number of research projects within these research themes:

• Patient and public input into policy decision-making
• Wind-turbines, health and well-being
• Effectiveness of weight management interventions during and post pregnancy
• OPHEA healthy minds and healthy bodies youth health and wellbeing initiative
• Deconstructing the neighbourhood determinants of health
