Joint RSS/MRC/NIHR HTA meeting on Futility Analysis in Clinical Trials

The meeting was held to discuss guidelines for futility analyses in publicly funded. Futility analyses are widely undertaken in early phase and industry sponsored trials, but is there a case for futility analyses in publicly funded trials as well? If so, how and when should the analyses be done? What should be the stopping rules?

Speakers included John Whitehead (Lancaster University), Andy Grieve (KCL) and Carl-Fredrik Bermans (AstraZeneca)
