Biography
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University and a PhD in Psychology at the University of Sheffield. My PhD was a mixed methods study examining the potential link and associated vulnerability factors between postnatal distress and premenstrual symptoms.
From 2004 until 2008 I was an NHS Research Lead then a Research and Evaluation Manager in the Directorate of Public Health (NHS Sheffield).
From 2008 I have been working on the Self Management supported by Assistive, Rehabilitation and Telecare Technologies (SMART2) project, which is developing a presonalised self management system for patients with long term health conditions.

Teaching Interests
I am a course tutor an the HAR6030 Introduction to Research Methods. I have also taught on the MPH dissertation module and research desigh and critical appraisal for MBChB undergraduates. I supervise Master's dissertations, have undertaken PhD supervision (as non-lead) and am also a member of a PhD advisory panel.
I am interested in supervising research students in topics related to older adults, such as the effects of long term conditions on patients and carers. Mixed or single method studies.

Represent the Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Group on the ScHARR Teaching Committee.
