Biography
I have worked with the CTRU since 2007. My principle role is to assist investigators in the design and costing of research studies. I also manage two controlled trials. The CoSMoS study evaluates the use of cognitive behavioural therapy software for the treatment of depression in people with multiple sclerosis. The Sheffield Physical Activity Booster Study, evaluates the effect of motivational interviewing in sustaining activity levels.
Prior to joining CTRU, I worked with ScHARR Technology Assessment Group from June 2000, where I undertook health technology assessments for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Co-ordinating Centre for Health Technology Assessment (NCCHTA). I have undertaken reviews for the Cochrane Cystic Fibrosis & Genetic Disorders Review Group and the Cochrane Breast Cancer Group. From September 2009, I was seconded, for two days a week, to Sheffield's NICE Centre for Public Health Excellence research unit.
