About Carl

Carl graduated with a BA in Economics, followed by an MSc in Economics and Health Economics, at the University of Sheffield.

He is interested in the way in which respondent income affects time trade-off health state valuation. The Washington Panel Guidelines on cost-effectiveness assume that respondents take productivity costs into account when valuing health states, but there is little evidence to support this. In the course of his PhD studies, he intends to gather primary data using a general population sample and also possibly some patients to determine if this assumption is valid.
