General Information
ScHARR currently has over 90 PGR students, from the UK, European Union and countries throughout the world, and the numbers are growing with more and more applicants each year for PGR studies. There is a mix of full-time and part-timers, with some members of staff also registered for a research degree.
The procedures and processes for successful postgraduate research studies in the School are set out in the PGR handbook, which you can download from the right-hand link. These procedures are in line with The University's Code of Practice for Degree Programmes. We have also produced a benchmark, setting out the standards for PGR study to which we aspire as a School (see downloads).
Governance of Postgraduate Research Studies
Within the School, postgraduate research affairs are co-ordinated by the Director of Post Graduate Research Studies, Professor MIke Campbell, with support from the Post Graduate Research Administrators Charlotte Hollins and Sara North-Cook, email scharr-pgr@sheffield.ac.uk.
The ScHARR Postgraduate Research Committee (PGRC) meets each month, and comprises staff with specific areas of responsibility and student representatives.
