Research training

All research students are offered the opportunity to engage in research training, which ranges from training in technical matters such as information management, writing techniques, time management and bibliographical skills to content modules such as Critical Theory.

Full-time students are normally required to acquire the equivalent to 35 credits at Masters (M) level. A range of modules are offered at departmental, school and University-wide levels.

Students are also able to participate in events coordinated by the AHRC-funded national research training network. The programme is flexible and takes account of the needs of individual students as well as research skills that have already been acquired, eg. as part of a taught Masters course.
