Research community and environment

We have a strong and lively research community, with regular graduate research seminars throughout the year, and an annual colloquium at which students are invited to present and discuss their research.

Through our bilateral agreements with St. Petersburg State University in Russia, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, and Warsaw University in Poland, we are able to facilitate research trips to relevant countries.

In addition to students based in Sheffield, the department also hosts the research of several remote location students, who visit the department at least annually.
