Postgraduate studies: Masters courses
MA degrees are modular in format. Students must accumulate a total of 180 credits by taking a series of course units or modules which typically carry a credit rating of 30 or 15 credits. These credits are accumulated over 12 months (full-time study) or 24 months (part-time study). MA in Translation Studies
This course is offered by the Modern Languages Teaching Centre, and gives students a grounding in the theory of translation, exposure to common translators' tools, and practice translating from their chosen languages into English.
We offer modules in Russian to English Translation, Czech to English Translation, and Polish to English Translation, as well as assisting in the supervision of projects and dissertations for this course.
MA in Screen Translation
This course is offered by the Modern Languages Teaching Centre, and aims to introduce students to the audiovisual medium of screen translation through modules in the theory and practice of subtitling and dubbing and approaches to screen translation.
We offer modules in Russian to English Translation, Czech to English Translation, and Polish to English Translation, as well as assisting in the supervision of projects and dissertations for this course.
MA in Intercultural Communication
This course, offered in the Modern Languages Teaching Centre, focuses on communication and work in multicultural environments.
