Applying for postgraduate studies

The normal requirement for admission to a Russian and Slavonic Studies MPhil/PhD is a first degree of Upper Second class (2:1) or better in a relevant subject. You will also need to provide satisfactory academic references and an MA showing similar academic achievement.

In exceptional circumstances, we would consider applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement, eg. those who have achieved a lower overall classification in their first degree but have demonstrated Upper Second quality (or better) in the area(s) in which they wish to pursue their postgraduate studies.

Overseas students will be expected to have equivalent qualifications, and to show an acceptable level of competence in English language.
