Collaborative R&D and Partnership Awards

Brief description - The purpose of the Collaborative R&D and Partnership scheme is to facilitate the delivery of research projects and to develop longer-term partnerships with external organisations. The scheme is jointly funded by the University's EPSRC-funded Knowledge Transfer Account (KTA) and HEIF 2011-2015 funding.

Proof of Concept Projects

Grants to develop idea to an appropriate stage for industry engagement and/or commercialisation. Matched funding available to support regional & national schemes.

Three competitive calls.
Matched funding to other schemes on rolling
basis.

£30 - 50,000 per project.

PDRA Industrial Research Secondments

Provide Post Doctoral Research staff with the opportunity to work with an external partner to enable knowledge transfer and to exploit the results of on-going or completed EPSRC research.

One off competitive call.

Support direct costs including salary, consumables, and reasonable travel and subsistence costs for 6 months.

CLOSED

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)

Longest running UK wide KT scheme which employs a KTP Associate to undertake a project at the external partner.

Rolling programme of calls - via standard UK KTP application process.

Typically 50% of project costs for large companies and 67% of project costs for SMEs.

 

Designer in Residence

Working with designers to embed best practice in design within research programme.

Rolling call.

Support for design work, including the Designer in Residence - Sebastian Conran Associates.
