Training and Development
The University of Sheffield is committed to supporting the training and development of research staff.
In this context research staff means staff who are in the early years of their research careers. The training and development opportunities listed in the Research Staff Development site that are provided by Research & Innovation Services and by the Faculties are prioritised for staff on fixed-term research contracts (e.g. research associates, postdocs.). However, where spaces on training are available other research staff are welcome to attend (such as staff on teaching only contracts who aspire to become researchers, and permanent academic staff who are on probation).
These pages provide information about the training sessions within the University available to research staff, access to online development guides covering a wide range of topics, an e-Portfolio for research staff to record their development and information about Vitae's Professional Development Planner.
