Made in Sheffield

Plastic blood
On display in the Plasticity exhibition at the Science Museum until January 2009 is the artificial 'plastic blood' developed by Dr Lance Twyman.
The plastic blood is light to carry and easy to store, and could act as a substitute for real blood in emergency situations.
The artificial blood will have a longer shelf-life than donated blood and be storable at room temperature.
