Courses in Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, and Neuroimaging at Sheffield

Cognitive neuroscience aims to provide an understanding of the brain mechanisms that underpin cognition, behaviour, perception, and motor control. It is a relatively new interdisciplinary area which makes use of many research tools, but principal among them are computational modelling and functional brain imaging. Computational neuroscience utilises neuroscientific data to construct quantitative, computational models of brain function, and functional neuroimaging aims to dynamically record aspects of brain function during controlled behavioural tasks. Together, these new and interdependent methods provide the foundation for meeting one of the key scientific `Grand Challenges´ of the twenty-first century: elucidating the relationship between brain and behaviour.

Sheffield offers two Master courses in these areas
