How to switch on Apple Remote Desktop
Firstly, select the system preferences option from the Apple menu.
Next, select the Sharing icon from the system preferences window that has opened up.
In the sharing window that opens, put a tick in the Apple Remote Desktop box by clicking on the box next to it.
This will open the sharing window, where options for the remote controller are specified. Firstly, put a tick in the box next to your own username and select all the options shown in the picture below.
Next, select the psyadmin username (if present), put a tick in the box next to it and then select the same options as before (also shown below).
Finally, press OK to exit this screen, and put a tick in the box next to show status in menu bar. Then close this window.
An icon shaped like a pair of binoculars will appear in the top right of your screen. When your computer is being observed or controlled, it will change to the following icon:
