Careers Service

We can help you assess how your postgraduate studies enhance your employability, and increase your awareness of the development opportunities available to you whilst studying at Sheffield. The Service fully recognises the needs and interests of international students.
We can assist you with the process of deciding on your next move, and with implementing the appropriate first steps after your studies. Our aim is to help you find the job you want, and 'start early' is our key message.
The Careers Service provides:
- An integrated programme of talks, seminars, courses and the opportunity for discussions with experienced careers advisers
- A careers adviser with dedicated responsibility to work with postgraduate research students and a programme of workshops and events specifically for research students
- For taught course students, careers advisers with specific departmental links to cover particular academic disciplines
- A well-stocked careers library, with sections on graduate occupations and employers, on working overseas, and on opportunities for further training
We encourage all students to use our facilities and to plan well ahead.
